-With what objectives did Microsensory SL emerge in 2004?
-It was born from the need to grow, due to the demand for orders and the demands of our new clients that we be a consolidated company. The objective of Microsensory is to provide the impetus for innovative technological activities that optimize the resources of the area where they operate. Micosensory must promote the generation of wealth, the incorporation of new companies and the increase of competitiveness in the Andalusian community. Our main challenge now is to consolidate ourselves in the international market to generate wealth through the entry of foreign currency, which is what Spain really needs at the moment, and to publicize our advanced technology, clearly demonstrating that it is well above that of our Canadian, English, German, Swiss and American competitors.
-Who or who bet on this initiative?
-The drivers of Microsensory are our own clients. Prestigious biologists who have financed projects with their money and clients from all over the world who have morally supported us so that we can continue with our business project.
What kind of services and products does this company offer?
They are very diverse. GPS devices for lynxes, ibex, snakes, vultures, in the case of Europe; elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, in Africa, or falconry for America or Asia. Products for the blind, such as ticket or color readers and laser meters; devices for people in hospitals or people with Alzheimer’s; devices to prevent skin cancer, convulsions in babies due to the effect of fever, as well as equipment for the recovery of stolen merchandise and products. In addition, we have many other ideas in development.
In addition, we have many other ideas in development.
Yes, 80% of our market is international. Our national clients are large companies, universities, institutions and fans of colombic culture and falconry. Among these clients we can highlight the CSIC, the Doñana station, the Juntas de Andalucía and Extremadura, the Government of the Canary Islands, companies such as Endesa or Repsol and NGOs. Internationally, we work with universities, governments and companies from Canada, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, Kenya, the Netherlands, Portugal, Greece or the United Arab Emirates.
-How many professionals work in the firm and what studies do they have?
-They are senior engineers and specialized electronic technical engineers and managers with a master’s degree and training in international trade.
-How has the billing of the firm evolved?
-The National Institute of Statistics (INE) carries out annual analyzes of our production and last year they called us astonished to check if there were errors in our data, since Microsensory’s high growth curve was atypical compared to most Spanish companies.
– Do they have public or private aid?
-No.
-How many patents have you registered since the foundation?
-Almost all patents have been assigned to our customers. For ONCE we have developed some 50 highly innovative projects. Due to the unique nature of this type of design, it has been echoed in many national and international media. As for the patents for sensor designs and high-precision electromechanical devices for technology and pharmaceutical companies and manufacturers of bills and coins, they have been transferred, although I appear as the inventor. On the other hand, we have our own patents aimed at improving the health, safety and devices of disabled people.
– Will the company continue to be located in Fernán Núñez as it has been until now?
-We continue here. I have always fought for the creation of a great technological company in my town and I have rejected very attractive offers in other countries that without a doubt would have accelerated our growth. For reasons beyond my control, I am forced to install the production line for the manufacture of security devices in Brazil. But I am a bit stubborn and I will continue in my endeavor that the new facilities of our head office, scheduled for 2015, be located in Fernán Núñez or in the province.
